This Barber Pole Shrimp has chosen an Iridescent Glassy Sponge as a cleaning station. A common occurrence.

 *  We have often found the Barber Pole Shrimp (Stenopus hispidus) or the Arrow Crab (Stenorhynchus seticornis) associated with Iridescent Glassy Sponges (Callyspongia plicifera). We have never found Brittlestars.  On the other hand, the related sponge (Callyspongia vaginalis) we have often come upon covered with the Brittlestar (Ophiothrix swensonii)  (1).
