*This structure was built in the latter part of the twelfth century at fortified site of Bogoliubovo, high on a point overlooking the Kliazma river.  It was built by Prince Andrei, who was himself nicknamed Bogoliubski (God-loving).  It was constructed to commemorate the death of his oldest son, killed in a battle with the Volga Bulgars.
