 *  A colorful marine environment.  In the upper left are branching brown sponges (Agelus sp.)The bright red  Encrusting Sponges indicate, perhaps, a (Clathria Sp.) or an encrusting (Mycale sp.).  The purple encrusting organisms are Coralline AlgaeA white encrusting sponge is visible on which is an arm of a Brittle Star (Ophiothrix sp.).  On the surface of the red sponges may be seen the white openings of serpulid worm tubes.

Protected rocky shelves are especially interesting ecosystems on Grand Cayman Island's North Wall.  The diving naturalist can find unique and colorful invertebrate life both attached under the shelves (1), and on the tops (2).
